Whatever kind of engineering path you’re interested in, you can speak with us to discuss what you’re most interested in. We can then identify the best programme for your goals.

So, what kinds of engineering apprenticeships are available to you? Here are the programmes we offer at ATNZ:

Mechanical Engineering. As a mechanical engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to build, repair and use various machines, tools and components. From designing intricate systems to troubleshooting complex problems, the field of mechanical engineering offers endless opportunities for growth and advancement. Mechanical engineers have skills that are very high in demand in Aotearoa, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a good job after you complete your apprenticeship if you choose to leave the company where you were an apprentice.

Engineering Fabrication. Engineering fabrication involves shaping, installing and repairing metal into functional structures and components. From crafting parts for architectural designs to manufacturing essential products, fabrication engineers play a vital role in various industries. With skills in welding, cutting and forming metal, fabrication engineers bring designs to life and contribute to the creation of useful solutions.

Refrigeration And Air Conditioning. Refrigeration and air conditioning engineers are the unsung heroes behind the comfort and convenience we enjoy every day. Responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining cooling systems, these skilled engineers play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. With a growing demand for sustainable solutions, refrigeration and air conditioning engineers are at the forefront of creating useful temperature-controlling systems and units.

Refrigeration and air conditioning units play a significant role in staying comfortable indoors, so aspiring engineers who are seeking these kinds of engineering apprenticeships can happily know that they’ll help heaps of people with their skills in the future.

Mechanical Building Services. Mechanical building services engineers are the minds behind the infrastructure that keeps buildings standing strong and tall. From HVAC systems to plumbing and electrical installations, these engineers ensure that buildings are safe, comfortable and energy-efficient. With a keen eye for detail, mechanical building services engineers shape the future of urban living.

Welding. Unlike our other engineering programmes, which are all 4-year courses, our welding programme is 42 weeks long.
