NZ Certificate in Welding – Level 4

The course has been developed to provide specialist training to people wanting to work as skilled welders in engineering fabrication, steel construction, mechanical engineering and related industries. Graduates will be able to operate independently within their chosen disciplines and follow the written procedures utilised by their employer.

This qualification follows builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Welding (Level 3).

The intended framework for progression in the industry to become a qualified tradesperson is to achieve the combination of this qualification and the New Zealand Certificate in Welding (Level 3).

This qualification leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Engineering Fabrication (Trade) (Level 4) with strands in Heavy Fabrication, Light Fabrication, and Steel Construction.

Entry Requirements

  • Have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Welding (Level 3) or a related qualification or equivalent work experience.
